The 6.7-inch Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is the middle model of the three Galaxy S21 flagships and combines the best of two worlds: With equipment very similar to the Galaxy S21, the size and battery are similar to the Galaxy S21 Ultra top model.
Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, or Galaxy S21 Ultra – which of the flagships should it be? Samsung wants to make it easy for buyers to decide: Those who want the largest display, best camera, and largest battery should get the 6.8-inch Galaxy S21 Ultra flagship. Those who want the most affordable model should get the 6.2-inch Galaxy S21 and will still get almost all the features of the Galaxy S21 series.
And finally, the “best of” features from both smartphones are in the Galaxy S21 Plus. With its 6.7-inch AMOLED display, it is supposed to particularly attract gamers and fans of the series according to Samsung. In the smallest version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, the Galaxy S21 Plus officially costs 1049 Euros (~$1271; currently starting from $799 in the US), and with 256 GB, 1099 Euros (~$1332). With this, the starting price is even slightly more expensive than its predecessor, the Galaxy S20 Plus, which started at 999 Euros (~$1211) with the same storage equipment.
Glass back cover instead of plastic
Our test showed that, despite the many similarities to the Samsung Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21 Plus also does some things differently. This not only concerns the larger battery and larger display, but also the case. While the design remains the same, just like the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the Galaxy S21 Plus protects its back cover with a layer of matte Gorilla Glass Victus, which is the most robust Gorilla Glass that has been used in a smartphone until now, according to Samsung. The Galaxy S21, on the other hand, only uses plastic. Visually, the two surfaces can hardly be distinguished from one another, but the haptics feel different and the glass back cover clearly has a more high-quality feel.
