Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 13 series later this year. Much like the iPhone 12 series, the upcoming iPhone models will feature two Pro models. Apple is rumoured to unveil the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. While the display size remains the same, the underlying tech is about to see an upgrade. According to a new report by The Elec, Samsung will make the OLED panels for Apple’s 2021 iPhone Pro models. The two high-end iPhones could come with an LTPO OLED display for 120Hz refresh rate support. Let’s take a look at the iPhone 13 Pro series display details leaked ahead of the launch.
Apple iPhone 13 series launch is a few months away. Ahead of the launch event, some key iPhone 13 Pro display details have leaked online.
According to The Elec, Samsung Display will manufacture the OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone Pro models. The displays will use the low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) tech for the 120Hz refresh rate support. Apple will also use Radio Frequency Printed Circuit Boards (RFPCB) on the Pro models. The standard models will come with Flexible Printed Circuit Boards (FPCB). RFPCB is both rigid and can be folded. This allows for more convenient product designs and faster transmission of electric signals.
The use of LTPO panels will help conserve some battery as it turns off individual pixels when not in use. The company can also launch the upcoming Pro iPhones with Always-On Display (AoD).
The two Pro models will feature 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. Leaked render images reveal that the notch is getting smaller across all four models. Apple is shifting the earpiece to the top edge to make the notch smaller. It will continue to offer Face ID tech.
