Samsung Galaxy S23 specifications leak online

Specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S23 have leaked online. Reputedly equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the Galaxy S23 will share many features with its predecessor, the Galaxy S22.

The Galaxy S23 may be several months away from releasing, but numerous details about the device have already emerged online. For example, @OnLeaks shared CAD-based renders of the Galaxy S23 last month. Seemingly, Samsung has decided to adopt the camera design from the Galaxy S22 Ultra across the entire Galaxy S23 series, although @UniverseIce has cast doubts about the authenticity of @OnLeaks’ Galaxy S23 Ultra renders.

Regardless, Yogesh Brar has shared numerous specifications for the Galaxy S23, which is still expected to be the cheapest member of Samsung’s flagship smartphone series. According to the leaker, the Galaxy S23 has a 6.1-inch Super AMOLED display that outputs at 1080p and 120 Hz, mirroring the Galaxy S22. Similarly, the handset is rumoured to contain 50 MP primary, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle, 10 MP telephoto and 10 MP front-facing cameras, all of which the Galaxy S22 already has. However, it remains to be seen whether Samsung will re-use this year’s sensors in the Galaxy S23.

Perhaps predictably, the Galaxy S23 is only expected to arrive with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of flash storage. Brar adds that Samsung will sell the device with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset; this may not apply in Europe where Samsung persists with its Exynos chipsets, though. Still, Brar asserts that the Galaxy S23 will rely on a 3,900 mAh battery, a 200 mAh higher capacity than the battery in its predecessor. Incidentally, this capacity would put the Galaxy S23 within 100 mAh of the Galaxy S21. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S23 will only be capable of recharging its battery at 15 W wirelessly or 25 W via a wired connection. Presumably, reverse wireless charging will be offered too.
